Just a few hours ago, we talked about a very affordable way to turn an old Ford Ecoline van into a livable RV. For someone who wants something a lot more fancy and is willing to spend a little fortune, here’s a drastically different take on RV conversions.
The video at the top of this page is from Outdoor adventures in New Jersey channel enabled Youtube and takes us to the Ready Set Van company in Trenton, New Jersey, where we meet its founder, Ben Fraser. He shows us around one of the company’s latest projects, a fully equipped custom luxury Ram Promaster motorhome with a little surprise. We’ll get to that in a minute, but first, let’s take a look at the changes to the living space.
As you can see for yourself in the video, this is a luxury conversion with premium finishes for almost any surface inside. High-quality thermal and sound insulation all around ensure quiet and comfortable weather – nice and warm when you want it warm and nice and cool when you want it cool. Fraser promises the whole build is super strong and there are no squeaks.
One of the highlights of the van is the massive storage compartment in the back, placed just below the bed. You can install mountain bikes there so that there is enough space for all your adventure rigs. On the right side of the rear compartment is the external shower system and on the left is the electrical cabinet.
As mentioned in the title, this motorhome is equipped with Tesla batteries. The plan is to have enough power for the times when you want to disconnect from the grid for more than 24 hours only. This particular pickup truck doesn’t have an air conditioner, but many of the company’s other models have AC power, and it needs a lot of power. The motorhome in the video features two Tesla battery modules and without AC power, Fraser says owners will never worry about power. Learn more about the smart electrical system in the video above.
