IDOT organizes workshops to diversify commercial partnerships with the State


SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will host the 2022 Success Summit on February 17 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Officials said this is a one-day virtual workshop aimed at providing opportunities for women and minority-owned businesses to make connections and develop skills to grow their business by participating. the Department’s Disadvantaged Businesses program.

“Helping to grow and diversify companies that want to work with IDOT not only benefits the companies themselves, but the state as a whole,” said Illinois Secretary of Transportation Omer Osman. “In any industry, competition is key to getting a good product at a fair price. By providing more businesses with the resources they need to succeed, we ensure that our projects are as competitive as possible. I encourage anyone interested in doing business with IDOT to attend these workshops and learn more about the help we provide.

According to officials, topics of the workshop will include corporate tax filing strategies, obtaining timely compensation and sharing details about a proposed bridge consolidation initiative.
