Flight Center Travel Group has appointed Emese Graham as Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Americas, a role in which she will lead equity initiatives across the company’s corporate and leisure brands. group.
Graham, who has worked at Flight Center since 2018, most recently as a content manager, will be based in Toronto and will begin her new role on March 14. One of his initial goals will be to work with the travel management company teams to remove barriers to fairness. both for employees and customers as well as for the community at large.
“We will give our teams the tools to have transformative conversations about race, colonialism, disability and gender,” Graham said in a statement. “These conversations need to happen in the travel industry.”
Graham has previously worked on DEI initiatives within the company, including designing workshops, developing a reference guide to ensure anti-racist language in product copy, making social media communication accessible to people with visually impaired and giving more representation to people of color, more people of average height, people with disabilities and LGBTQ+ people in customer-facing positions, according to Flight Center.
