CENTERVILLE, TN – Rackley WAR, co-owned by Willie Allen and Curtis Sutton, announced Thursday that the team will field a second entry in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rackley Roofing 200 at the Nashville Superspeedway on June 18 for the NASCAR Cup Series driver. Guillaume Byron.
NASCAR racing returns to Nashville Superspeedway for the first time since 2011 over Father’s Day weekend.
Byron, in Rackley Roofing’s # 27 Chevrolet Silverado, will return to the Camping World Truck Series for the first time since 2016, when he competes with Rackley WAR. Upon entering the Rackley Roofing 200, the 23-year-old will gain additional siege time. to prepare for the NASCAR Cup Series event on June 20.
Byron will race as a teammate with Josh Berry, who was named the No. 25 Chevrolet Rackley WAR driver for three races earlier this week.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of the Camping World Truck Series,” said Byron. “I haven’t been in a truck in a while so the opportunity to do it with Rackley WAR allows me to recover and get used to it again. I’ve never raced at the Nashville Superspeedway before either. While I think NASCAR Cup Series entries will behave differently compared to trucks, the Rackley Roofing 200 will give me the opportunity to learn a few things on my own that I might not be able to try. Plus it gives me a chance to get used to the track as a whole – I can learn the braking zones, pit lane entry and exit, and the general characteristics of the Nashville Superspeedway.
The # 24 NASCAR Cup Series Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE driver Hendrick Motorsports made his 2015 National Series debut in the Camping World Truck Series. Byron built an expansive resume with the 2015 ARCA Menards Series East Championship, 2016 Rookie of the Year honors in the Camping World Truck Series, garnering both the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship and Rookie of the Year in 2017, and two-time winner of the NASCAR Cup Series.
In the Camping World Truck Series, he has seven wins, 11 top 5 and 16 top 10 in 24 starts.
“I hope I can have a good race for the Rackley WAR team,” said Byron. “It helps them create a notebook and gives them something to work on for the future. Glad to be back in a truck and see what we can do at the Nashville Superspeedway.
Team co-owner Allen will be Team Leader Byron and Team No. 27 Rackley Roofing Chevrolet Silverado.
“We are delighted that William Byron is joining our team for the Rackley Roofing 200,” said Allen. “He is a very talented driver and we are looking forward to working with him. His experience at the highest level of NASCAR is invaluable to Rackley WAR as a team.
