Celebrate Asian and Pacific Island American Heritage Month in the UCSD virtual event. The theme for the 15th anniversary is “Empowering Community Through Reflection and Recognition”. It will feature comedy performances, taiko drumming and a keynote speech by actor Taylor Takahashi from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A movie night for animal lovers! San Diego’s exotic animal rescue nonprofit, Lions Tigers & Bears, will host two screenings of The conservation game, a new documentary by Michael Webber on environmental celebrities and the big cat trade. Screenings will take place at the Hazard Center in Mission Valley and at the Alpine Sanctuary. Each ticket includes a meeting with the director; a ticket for the alpine show also includes a visit with the rescued bears and big cats that the sanctuary takes care of.

Film buffs can tune in to this festival which celebrates short films. For the first time, the San Diego International Film Festival will reward films under 30 minutes in their own festival. The virtual event will feature live screenings of over 100 films and host panels throughout the weekend. Discover the work done by local filmmakers, students and animators.
